The City of Bamberg, July 24, 2013

Today because of the lock strike, we took the bus to Bamberg. Beautiful scenery as well as a look at the industrial part of the country. I had never seen a nuclear reactor before.

This city has bridges, water and buildings everywhere. I am beginning to realize much history there is in Germany.

The day was very hot yet it started to cloud over. We even had some rain. The region has a smoked beer. We tried some at lunch.

Lunch was soup, salad, schnitzel and potatoes and ice cream. Very good food. We went for lunch after a tour of the imperial residence and rose garden.

We had a good walk in this town and then took the bus back to the ship.

We are hoping that tomorrow the locks will be operating normally. If not we may have to take the bus to,other locations.
