The Ferris wheel just outside our cruise ship. Quite a few people rode this at night.
There are only so many gates in the wall where you can enter the historical city.
The city hall of Avignon.
Inside the palace. Many stairs, crumbling rocks, but an interesting place.
Hard to believe this was built in the 14th century.
The rock retains the heat in the summer and the cold in the winter. Some places were cooler.
Inside on of the massive rooms.
The Pope's window where he would wave at the crowds.
The covered market. Inside it reminded us of the Granville island market.
After we sat on the deck with beer and wine.
