The church in Lyon. The day started at 8:45 am. Which means up at 6:45 breakfast at 7:30 on the road at 8:45am. We had a city tour in the air conditioned bus. I was grateful I was a tourist today because it was very warm outside. Lyon is the third or second largest city in France. It is very beautiful. There are many fine restaurants and silk scarf places. Both very expensive. So we enjoyed some window shopping and sight seeing. The Saone and the Rhone rivers flow through town . Currently the ship is moored along the Rhone river.
We went to the top of one of the three hills of Lyon where that have a lovely old church. Which of course we toured......poor Tony.
Tony standing in the front square of the church. Her is still taking pictures of cars and interesting machines and tractors.
Tony calls this the competition. There was a Jewish synagogue across the street from the Catholic Church.
There are many famous murals in Lyon .
There are also passages through buildings that the locals know about. It is a short cut through a building from one street to the next.
The menus offer some interesting choices. This emperor and horse sculpture is in the middle of the city. Around this square are small shops where you can go shopping. Maureen and I braved the city heat in the afternoon and strolled around. There are many things for sale but we cam back empty handed. At night we sat on the upper deck with some wine and beer we had bought. A long day!
